What Thornscript Means
You’ve probably seen it by now—those jagged letters on our shirts, our tags, the gear. Looks like it crawled straight out of the woods.
We call it Thornscript.
It’s more than just a font. It’s the voice of Skeleton Island. A visual identity we built from scratch to reflect what we’re about: sharp edges, hard trails, and the dirt-under-the-nails kind of living.
Why We Made It
We couldn’t find anything out there that spoke the same language we do—something that felt raw, but still carried meaning. So we made our own. Thornscript is a nod to old-world rune carvings and extreme metal logos, but pulled back just enough to stay readable. It feels primal, but with purpose.
It’s the kind of writing you might see scratched into an old blade or marked on a tree to warn you not to go further.
We wanted a look that said exactly that:
This isn’t for everyone.
What It Stands For
Thornscript is about pushing through the overgrowth, not around it. It’s built for those who run toward the storm. Those who find peace in chaos. Those who carry the wilderness with them.
It’s not clean. It’s not polite. It’s not meant to blend in.
And that’s the point.
The Bottom Line
Thornscript is how we speak without saying a word. When you see it, you know it’s us.
And if it hits the right nerve, maybe it’s you too.
